OUR TECHNOLOGY
INSPIRED BY NATURE

Limax is developing next generation hydrogels that mimic the sticky and flexible slime slugs secrete when frightened, without using actual slugs in the process (i.e. biomimicry). One of these innovative features is that they are able to attach to wet dynamically moving surfaces, inside and outside the body, with unprecedented strength, speed, and effectiveness, meaning its adhesion ability is not affected by blood presence nor by the movement of blood, vessels, or other body tissues.

The resulting hydrogel network stays tough and highly stretchable under mechanical stress, while bonding to wet tissue within seconds. Instead of the toxic chemical linkers used in many existing adhesives, it relies on physical entanglement and electrostatic interactions — enabling fast, durable attachment even on wet, dynamically moving surfaces
